Hi, my name is Ray. I’ve lost 120 pounds with Weigh to Wellness. I want to tell you my story about how I
managed to lose the weight, what has kept me motivated, and what this weight loss has done to change my life.
I started my journey weighing 320 pounds. When you weigh that much, life is hard. Accomplishing even the most basic tasks felt like trying to climb a mountain. At 33 years old, I had high blood pressure that seemed to keep creeping upward, and I was diagnosed as prediabetic. My doctor told me that, if I continued on that path, I would be marching straight to my grave. My wife and I had recently had our first child, and I knew that if I didn’t do something about my weight, I would not live long enough to see my daughter grow up. I had to do something.
Like most people that struggle with their weight, I tried and failed to lose the weight many times before. Worst of all, it seemed like every time that I would, I would just end up heavier than when I started. Sometimes I would wonder what the point was in even trying. I needed help. So, I made an appointment at Weigh to Wellness and started their very low calorie diet plan.
The plan consisted of six high protein, low calorie meals per day. I must admit that I was a bit wary at first. It just did not seem like enough food. After all, it is quite an abrupt change to go from eating upwards of 5,000 calories to around 1,000 calories per day. But I had to do it for my daughter. With nothing but reassurance and support from the great staff at Weigh to Wellness, I made one of the biggest changes I have ever made in my life. I began my weight loss journey.
The first few weeks were tough. I was hungry and irritable, and I felt like I was depriving myself of all the good things in life. I would pass by fast-food restaurants on my way to work and want to go through the drive thru so badly
. But I didn’t. I couldn’t. I had to succeed this time. After the first two or three weeks, my body started to adjust to my new diet. I would actually become full after a meal. As my body got used to the new eating routine, I no longer felt constant hunger pains. Best of all, my weight was coming down. In just a few short weeks, I could already see and feel the difference.
Weigh to Wellness provided all the tools I needed to be successful. They gave me a kept me motivated and on track. What was once a seemingly impossible challenge became routine. Nine months later, I have gone from 320 pounds to 195 pounds. I have lost the weight of a whole person, and I have become a new person.
Life is so much easier now that I do not have to carry around all of this extra weight. It is unbelievable how much energy I have now, and I can accomplish so much in a day. I can clean my whole house without getting drained. I can bend down without hurting my back. I no longer struggle just to move around or go up a flight of stairs. I can go shopping for clothes and know that every store will carry my size. My physical appearance has improved greatly, and I feel so much better about myself.
Most importantly, my health has significantly improved. The prediabetes is gone, my blood pressure is now in a normal range, and my doctor says that I am healthy. My weight will not send me to an early grave, and I will get to see my daughter grow up and become a woman. I have my life back.
